Dusan Stojicic ("do-shan stoy-chi-chich", dusan@weown.it) joined We Own It in 2018 to support the Fellowship program with his extensive organizing and training experience.  Dusan gained more than eight years of experience in community organizing in his home country Serbia. He has launched and led three national advocacy campaigns organizing hundreds and thousands of citizens and resulting in tangible improvements of health and community services.  While in Serbia, Dusan completed the "Community Organizing, Leadership and Change" program and was invited by JFK School of Government professor Marshall Ganz to join his teaching team. With Marshall, he has trained and coached over 50 U.S based and international organizations, social movements and community groups.

Dusan completed his master’s degree in Sustainable International Development and Global Health Policy and Management master’s program at Brandeis University - Heller School where he was awarded with merit-based scholarship. He also served as a research partner at the Relational Coordination Research Collaborative at the Heller School. His thesis “Collaborative Citizen Engagement and Co-production as a Pathway to Address Mental Health Disorders” was published and presented at various conferences.

Today, Dusan serves as the Associate Director of the Substance Use Disorders and Justice-Involved Populations Program at Community Catalyst, which focuses on promoting new ways to prevent and treat problematic use of alcohol and drugs.
