Webinar: Equitable Beneficial Electrification for Rural Electric Co-ops


Join the Cooperative Leadership Network (CLN) for the next webinar in their series "What Do Co-Op Leaders Need To Know?" to explore Equitable Beneficial Electrification for Rural Electric Co-ops: Electrifying Residential Space and Water Heating on Monday May 20th from 3-4:30 pm EDT.

Janet Reiser, CLN Executive Director and former Executive Director of the Alaska Energy Authority, will begin the conversation with an overview of CLN. Miguel Yanez of Environmental and Energy Study Institute and Liz Veazey of We Own It will provide an overview of their recently released report on Equitable Beneficial Electrification for Electric Co-ops, which was a collaborative project through the REAMP Network including Ric Evans of Groundwork Center for Community Resilience (and CLN), Nathan Shepherd at the Iowa Policy Project, and Samarth Medakkar at Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. Then we will hear from co-op leaders on some model beneficial electrification and energy efficiency programs including Roanoke Electric in NC, Ouachita Electric in AR, and Ocras Power and Light in WA. 

Featured panelists include Ric Evans, Director at Great Lakes Energy (MI) and CLN Board Chair; Liz Veazey, Network Director at We Own It; Marshall Cherry, Chief Operating Officer at Roanoke Electric Cooperative; and Mark Cayce, CEO of Ouachita Electric Cooperative (AR) and CLN Board Director.
